Iblis

In Islamic tradition, Iblīs was originally an exalted worshiper residing among the angels before his catastrophic rebellion. When commanded to prostrate to Adam, he refused out of haughty rationalism, claiming superiority as a creation of fire over clay. Banished as al-Rajīm (the accursed/stoned), he obtained divine respite to misguide humanity through covert suggestions (waswās) and deceitful embellishments.
