In Kabbalistic cosmology, he reigns as the masculine sovereign of the Sitra Achra alongside Lilith, while Gnostic scriptures identify him as the blind, therianthropic Demiurge who ignorantly claims exclusive divinity.

In Kabbalistic cosmology, Samael is the great prince of the Left Side (Sitra Achra), emanated from the waste products of the sefirah Gevurah. Functioning as the fatal 'Venom of God', he serves as the cosmic accuser, seducer, and angel of death. United with the Elder Lilith, he seeks to inject spiritual poison into creation and extinguish the holy light of the Shekhinah.
