In Kabbalistic cosmology, Sandalphon presides over the tenth sefirah, Malkhut (Kingdom), and the terrestrial realm of Assiah. Described in the Talmud as towering by a five-hundred-year journey above other angels with feet set upon earth, he serves as the heavenly co-brother (synadelphos) to Metatron. He captures the spoken prayers of all nations, binds them into garlands, and adjures them upward to crown the Holy One.
